These are some issues that we need to tackle.
1) We need an address for "Place of Business", it is defined in the Societies Act as the place where the records and books of accounts of a society are kept. I infer that it is more symbolical then actual. It must not be one of the following.
(a) HDB flat
(b) PO Box
(c) Undeveloped sites, eg. Mukim Lot 8
(d) Mobile premises, eg. Containers
(e) Unofficial addresses, eg. Rooftops, void decks
(f) Public places, eg. hawker stalls/stores
The only place I can think of now is a private housing or condo. Can alumni ask around who is willing to lend this address?
2) We need alumni who knows how to do auditing to help us submit our annual auditing statement. I believe that the auditing requirement is similar to local universities societies which are also registered as a offical group. We do not need a certified public auditor to complete this.

1st Meeting
Present: Boon, Yuneng, Shan Shan, Kaili, Audrey.
Performance Dates
June 2010 is the most probable date. Giving us ample time to set up our society and raise sponsorship from different sources. This is also the university holiday period. Also, we need to book the venue one yr in advance, this date would give up more time to prepare before booking.
Registration of Society
For ease of sponsorship and booking, we would be registering ourselves as a non-profit society. BOON will be in charge of this. Please refer to next entry for more info.
Venue
3 probable choices:
1)Arts House - Play Den
2)Guinness Substation
3)DC Blackbox
We have chosen blackboxes for its small size and low cost. We would like to start small and try our best to break even for our fiirst performance. SHAN SHAN would be drawing up the budget proposals for these 3 venues. Play Den would be the most probable choice.
Money Issues
1)Donations from AHSCDS Alumni : We would be starting a simple donation drive to ask alumni to contribute any amount to act as a starting capital for the performance. EXCO could start to ask around verbally and the official/actual donation would take place only after we are registered. For ease of book keeping, we would request all donations to be in at least two figures. Otherwise, alumni members could donate in groups or as a batch.
2)Profit Issue: We are expecting zero or negligble profit. Any form of surplus would be funded back to the operating fund for future performance uses.
3)Possible Sponsors: Singapore Pools, Lee Foundation, Arts Fund, Youth Leadership NTUC, Speak Mandarin Campaign, NAC, NTUC Youth. Sourcing will begin after we have the script synopsis.
